We conducted a vessel traffic study for vessels operating within and transiting waters in northwest Washington. My focus was on analysis of vessel traffic data purchased from the Marine Exchange of Puget Sound, development of commodity vessel and ferry traffic forecasts, forecasting vessel days by sub-region of the study area, a queuing analysis for vessels calling at the terminal, and @RISK modeling and simulations to evaluate the potential range of traffic based on uncertainty in the forecasts. This work took place in 2012–2013.
