We conducted interviews and collected information about historical and planned use of Unalaska and Port of Dutch Harbor facilities by vessels operating in the Arctic, including oil and gas exploration activities. This information was compiled for the City of Unalaska to prepare comments on an upcoming report by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This work took place in 2014–2015.
