We developed a profile for the City of Nome to help support analysis and discussion for its Port of Nome Strategic Development Plan, which was being updated to prepare the city for the development needed to support the deepening of its port to provide deepwater access. The profile included a regional socioeconomic overlook, data and discussion about port activities, an overview of industries relevant for the development landscape, and insights from community interviews. This work took place in 2023–2024.
